About AccessHope
AccessHope is an organization committed to delivering cancer support to cancer patients and their caregivers. They work with the nation's premier cancer institutes to create resources to support their members and provide a second opinion on their members' cancer treatment plan.




The Opportunity
AccessHope initially provided all its resources as a phone service, and was presented with the idea of digitizing their entire experience to reach more members and become more easily accessible, thus creating more avenues for cancer support.
The Product
The new digital experience for AccessHope prioritizes privacy and confidentiality, and allows for a guided account set-up that includes questions designed to understand who their member is and what their specific cancer support needs are.




AccessHope offers an Expert Advisory Review, which acts as a second expert opinion from their partner oncologists at premier national cancer institutes. Through this service, AccessHope collects member data relating to their health records, and sends this data to be analyzed by doctors who will provide their opinion on the member's currently proposed cancer treatment plan.
In order to create further transparency about the process, we also created a tracker service that would help explain to members what the status of their second opinion request was. The combination of the tracker and the redesigned consent form for the process resulted in greatly increased usage of the Expert Advisory Review service and tripled AccessHope's engagement with their members.




AccessHope also allows members to access resources and ask questions to a dedicated Cancer Support Team. As part of the member portal, we designed a system with a Calendly integration to allow for members to set up appointments with our Cancer Support Team.


The AccessHope Member Portal also provides members with a personalized support plan containing resources for different categories of resources, including understanding treatment options, nutrition during cancer, self-image, etc.
